最近申請(qǐng)MBA的幾位同學(xué)開始著急了，尤其是申請(qǐng)頂尖商學(xué)院的同學(xué)，開始為文書而發(fā)愁。我覺得文書是一個(gè)方面，另一方面是你對(duì)你職業(yè)生涯的一個(gè)規(guī)劃：IS IT NOW OR LATER? 為什么現(xiàn)在要去學(xué)MBA，為什么是這所學(xué)校，這都是最最關(guān)鍵的問題。這里，我也對(duì)那些WORKSHOP和SEMINAR把大家聚到一起聊聊天的方式，這樣既不明確個(gè)人職業(yè)發(fā)展，又不幫忙寫文書，和光天化日明搶有什么差別？呵呵。

　　我這里把我對(duì)幾所商學(xué)院的理解寫寫，而且點(diǎn)評(píng)了一下他們的文書題目。希望有幫助。我也希望提醒大家，但是這是件龐大工程，你能投入多少時(shí)間決定了你的成敗。

　　具體的寫作細(xì)節(jié)和疑問，可以先和有經(jīng)驗(yàn)的老師聯(lián)系，在文章立意和架構(gòu)上拿到指導(dǎo)。先大膽地寫，中英文均可，反正最后改完了，也就看不出原文了，作為修改人，我一般會(huì)改得比較多，所以同學(xué)們不要拘泥于遣詞造句。

　　注意，商學(xué)院要的是三種人，第一，職業(yè)經(jīng)理人，高級(jí)打工的人，第二，高級(jí)技術(shù)人才，如咨詢師，分析師和規(guī)劃師，第三，創(chuàng)業(yè)者，自己創(chuàng)造企業(yè)的人，第四，王公貴族，參議員的兒子和阿拉伯的王子。最后一種人不是一般的申請(qǐng)人能說得，所以不算。你是哪一種？在寫的時(shí)候，性格，氣質(zhì)和語氣都不一樣。是經(jīng)理人，就要有大局觀，有決斷和方略；是高級(jí)人才，就要有眼光，有專業(yè)素養(yǎng)，獨(dú)特而犀利；是創(chuàng)業(yè)人才，就要嗜血如命，像鯊魚一般，冒險(xiǎn)，進(jìn)取和不滿足。

　　然后，同學(xué)們看看出了這些題目的學(xué)校，了解一下學(xué)校的強(qiáng)項(xiàng)和課程偏重，感覺一下在讀學(xué)生的背景PROFILE，最好列個(gè)表格，然后就可以一天寫一個(gè)題目，放開來寫就可以。

　　好，現(xiàn)在開始講講幾個(gè)頂尖商學(xué)院的特點(diǎn)和文書題目簡單講解：

　　DUKE

　　杜克的申請(qǐng)很關(guān)鍵，有以下三點(diǎn)要格外注意：

　　(1)強(qiáng)調(diào)GLOBAL BUSINESS SENSE，即國際化的背景多元和多種思維；

　　(2)強(qiáng)調(diào)TEAM WORK，你和你的CLASSMATE必須有共通和呼吸。

　　(3)對(duì)課程的興趣和選擇DUKE的堅(jiān)定，你一般可以選兩個(gè)CONCENTRATION。

　　1. Describe your vision for your career, your inspiration for pursuing this career path, and the role of The Duke MBA in achieving your goals. If you are interested in a specific concentration or joint degree program, please discuss in this essay. (1.5 spacing, no smaller than point 10)

　　(先講講自己人生到了這一步要MBA，然后規(guī)劃下面3-5年發(fā)展。然后說為什么你的需求現(xiàn)在只有DUKE可以滿足，注意上面三點(diǎn)，DUKE的項(xiàng)目有什么特點(diǎn)，)

　　2. Discuss a person, event, or experience that has significantly shaped your life and explain why. (1.5 spacing, no smaller than point 10)

　　(某人，家庭和過往歷史對(duì)你有什么影響和啟發(fā)？這里要強(qiáng)調(diào)自己的團(tuán)隊(duì)合作精神，學(xué)習(xí)能力，克服困難等)

　　3. Individuals choose a business school for many different reasons. Through your research, what attributes or characteristics of The Duke MBA program have most resonated with you and why? How do you plan to contribute to the strengthening and enhancement of those attributes and characteristics during your time at Duke and beyond? (1.5 spacing, no smaller than point 10)

　　(還是上面三點(diǎn)，自己的需求是什么，有那一些地方需要提高，你準(zhǔn)備如何利用DUKE的項(xiàng)目來提高自己，如LEADERSHIP等)

If you feel there are extenuating circumstances of which the Admissions Committee should be aware, please explain them here (e.g., unexplained gaps in work, choice of recommenders, inconsistent or questionable academic performance, significant weakness in your application). 　　DARTMOUTH

　　這個(gè)學(xué)校和DUKE很相似，所以在寫的時(shí)候，要把握好，而且想想DUKE的思路。注意以下三點(diǎn)：

　　1.這個(gè)MBA主要的方向是培養(yǎng)第二種人，職業(yè)經(jīng)理人，GENERAL MANAGEMENT，所以領(lǐng)導(dǎo)團(tuán)隊(duì)，打造團(tuán)隊(duì)是你要學(xué)的，也是你可以展示的；

　　2.由于學(xué)校特別強(qiáng)調(diào)TEAM PLAY，這應(yīng)該是申請(qǐng)文書的主線和重點(diǎn)強(qiáng)調(diào)地方。

　　3.學(xué)校很關(guān)注你為什么不選擇在大城市的學(xué)校而選擇了TUCK？這也是你要仔細(xì)講清楚的，不要回避這個(gè)問題。

　　1.Why is an MBA a critical next step toward your short- and long-term career goals? Why is Tuck the best MBA program for you? (If you are applying for a joint or dual degree, please explain how the additional degree will contribute to those goals。) (at best 500 words)

　　(這個(gè)回答和DUKE的第一道題是一樣的。)

　　2.Tuck defines leadership as “inspiring others to strive and enabling them to accomplish great things。” We believe great things and great leadership can be accomplished in pursuit of business and societal goals. Describe a time when you exercised such leadership. Discuss the challenges you faced and the results you achieved. What characteristics helped you to be effective, and what areas do you feel you need to develop in order to be a better leader? (at best 500 words)

　　(和DUKE的LEADERSHIP一樣，這里很多人忽略TEAMWORK，即使是領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人也要TEAMWORK，所以幾個(gè)要點(diǎn)，舉個(gè)實(shí)例來講：困難是什么；如何目光獨(dú)到；如何鼓舞士氣；如何堅(jiān)持到底。總結(jié)一下自己在這件事成功的因素。)

    3.Discuss the most difficult constructive criticism or feedback you have received. How did you address it? What have you learned from it? (at best 500 words)

　　(這個(gè)必須是工作環(huán)境中的，要強(qiáng)調(diào)HARSH。然后你是如何應(yīng)對(duì)和學(xué)習(xí)的)

　　4.Tuck seeks candidates of various backgrounds who can bring new perspectives to our community. How will your unique personal history, values, and/or life experiences contribute to the culture at Tuck? (at best 500 words)

　　(這個(gè)又和DUKE一樣，多元化背景。但是，注意寫寫你的國際經(jīng)歷GLOBAL BUSNINESS MINDSET)

　　5.(Optional) Please provide any additional insight or information that you have not addressed elsewhere that may be helpful in reviewing your application (e.g., unusual choice of uators, weaknesses in academic performance, unexplained job gaps or changes, etc。). Complete this question only if you feel your candidacy is not fully represented by this application. (at best 500 words)

　　(和DUKE的最后一篇一樣)

　　NYU STERN

　　這個(gè)學(xué)校不好進(jìn)，競爭激烈。關(guān)鍵也是以下三點(diǎn)我認(rèn)為最為重要：

　　1.告訴學(xué)校為什么NYU適合你，而不是哥大和沃頓？這就需要你看看課程設(shè)置，感受一下NYU的地理位置和教師隊(duì)伍中龐大的兼職CEO和CFO。

　　2.NYU貌似培養(yǎng)INVESTMENT和FINANCE的人，但是具體培養(yǎng)的還是職業(yè)經(jīng)理人，所以寫得時(shí)候，不要忘記管理的學(xué)習(xí)，也要強(qiáng)調(diào)多種方向的學(xué)習(xí)(你可以選3-4個(gè)方向)

　　3.再次強(qiáng)調(diào)TEAMWORK，NYU不喜歡太過自我成功的人，所以，強(qiáng)調(diào)參與，共事，團(tuán)結(jié)和拼搏，才是文書的重點(diǎn)。

　　1. Think about the decisions you have made in your life. Answer the following (maximum of 750 words，double-spaced, 12-point font)：

　　What choices have you made that led you to your current position?

　　Why pursue an MBA at this point in your life?

　　What is your career goal upon graduation from NYU Stern? What is your long-term career goal?

　　(這個(gè)題目也是倒裝的。先寫職業(yè)規(guī)劃，三五年內(nèi)你要干什么，然后描述你是如何到得這個(gè)認(rèn)識(shí)，是職業(yè)發(fā)展的必然，還是人生道路的前進(jìn)，還是個(gè)人計(jì)劃的實(shí)施。每一步都是一個(gè)決定，就這么串起來，發(fā)覺MBA是現(xiàn)實(shí)的一個(gè)必然選擇)

　　2. The NYU Stern community is one of our strongest assets. Please answer the following questions about our community (500 word maximum，double-spaced, 12-point font)：

　　What is your personal experience with the Stern community?

　　What actions have you taken to learn more about us?

　　How would you contribute to our community as a student?

　　How will you benefit personally and professionally from the Stern community?

　　(這個(gè)就要做做功課了。一般來說，有兩種方法，認(rèn)識(shí)一個(gè)MBA校友，訪問過學(xué)校；另外就是認(rèn)識(shí)一個(gè)老師，接觸過和被推薦過。引出你對(duì)學(xué)校課程和優(yōu)勢的認(rèn)識(shí)，才是關(guān)鍵。)

　　3. Please describe yourself to your MBA classmates. You may use almost any method to convey your message (e.g. words, illustrations). Feel free to be creative. (See notes on the content parameters) 500 word maximum，double-spaced, 12-point font)：

　　(以前有同學(xué)在這里寫詩和用CD,YOUTUBE。但是現(xiàn)在不行。但是文字上還是要寫寫，強(qiáng)調(diào)個(gè)人經(jīng)歷的多元背景，家庭，文化和旅行等，都可以。)

　　4.Please provide any additional information that you would like to bring to the attention of the Admissions Committee. This may include current or past gaps in employment, your undergraduate record, plans to retake the GMAT and/or TOEFL, or any other relevant information. If you are unable to submit a recommendation from a current supervisor, you must explain your reason in this essay. If you are applying to a dual degree program, please explain your decision to pursue a dual degree。

　　CORNELL

　　康奈爾學(xué)校大，但是MBA項(xiàng)目小，注意以下三點(diǎn)：

　　1. 也是培養(yǎng)高級(jí)經(jīng)理人，但是同時(shí)第三種人，高級(jí)金融和咨詢?nèi)耸恳彩桥囵B(yǎng)對(duì)象，特別是數(shù)量分析和衍生品投資方向。

　　2.CORNELL喜歡親自上陣的人，所以，強(qiáng)調(diào)的是你的眼光，分析，和動(dòng)手能力。結(jié)合一個(gè)LEADERSHIP例子一講，效果就很好。動(dòng)手能力，在動(dòng)手解決實(shí)際問題中學(xué)習(xí)，是CORNELL MBA申請(qǐng)時(shí)最為關(guān)鍵的一環(huán)。

　　3.學(xué)校很在意它的教授學(xué)生比例，這也是我們可以強(qiáng)調(diào)的。ACCESSIBILITY意味這LIVING和STUDYING是同步的。

　　1. Required - (400 words) Describe your greatest professional achievement and how you were able to add value to your organization。

　　(注意，是職業(yè)成功，成功是一步一步來的，怎么一步一步走出來，挑戰(zhàn)要寫清楚。不要寫單打獨(dú)斗，要寫INSPIRING THE TEAM去共同努力)

　　2. Required - (400 words) What career do you plan to pursue upon completion of an MBA degree and why? How will the Johnson School help you achieve this goal?

　　(這也是一個(gè)同樣的題目，寫寫職業(yè)計(jì)劃，然后寫自己讀MBA是為什，然后寫CORNELL是你的如何適合你的)

　　3. Optional Essay - (400 words)  Complete this essay if there is other information you would like to add regarding your candidacy. For instance, if you believe one or more aspects of your application (e.g., undergraduate GPA or test scores) does not accurately reflect your potential for success at the Johnson School。
